Main Duties:
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the maintenance operations for Chips, Fabricated Chips and Pop Corn departments as well as other utilities as required.
- Direct the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment as well as electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ensure that production and operational goals for quality, cost, safety, and service can be achieved by keeping equipment in working order
- Develop, implement and oversee schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Plan and manage the department’s budget.
- Ensure that the facility and equipment comply with regulatory and safety codes.
- Manage inventory of replacement parts.
- Stay on call for emergency repairs of production equipment.
- Provide input into projects related to facility modification, new equipment acquisition, and/or process improvement.
- Manage the department’s documentation system.
- Train or arrange for training of mechanics and other workers in coordination with the respective departmental manager, the plant manager and the human resources manager.
- Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and terminations.
- Responsibility for food safety and quality. Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
- Must follow required Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as instructed by Management.
- Other related duties as per job requirements.
Required Education & Experience:
- Completion of University or College program in electrical or mechanical engineering or in another related discipline.
- Several years of supervisory experience in facilities maintenance in a food manufacturing environment.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of GMP regulations is an asset.
