We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manger who will oversee all Quality Assurance/Quality Control functions within our Florida facility

Main Duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities and operations of the Quality Assurance department.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the scientific and technical work performed in the department
  • Consult and negotiate with clients to prepare product specifications and formulations.  Report findings
  • Receive and process customers’ quality complaints and provide feedback after coordination with the respective departmental managers and plant manager.
  • Develop and generate KPI reports for Management and Operations
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve product quality
  • Participate in the development and inspection of technical projects
  • Coordinate with department Manages for preparation of plant audits performed by governmental and private regulatory bodies
  • Develop and maintain QA reporting and documentation systems
  • Recommend hiring, promotion or termination of quality employees
  • Ability to multi-task, with the personality to operate in a lean, conservative mid sized entrepreneur environment, wherein the individual will lead, manager and participate.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Food Sciences, Chemistry or related scientific discipline
  • Several years of experience as a QA Manager in the food manufacturing industry (preferably with the snack food industry)

Plant Manager – Florida, USA

Position Summary:

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of all manufacturing and supporting departments including Production, Maintenance, Material Control & Purchasing, Shipping & Receiving, Human Resources and Customer Service while providing continuous leadership and guidance that will ensure the efficiency of operations and company targets are met.

Main Duties:

  • Must have a thorough understanding of all government regulations, R&D, Health and Safety, Food Safety practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Production Packaging, Quality Measures, etc.,
  • Must have experience supervising others (directly and indirectly).
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that the Company produces a safe, quality product, while meeting scheduled production, and ensuring customer requirements are achieved.
  • Develop and implement plans to efficiently use of materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets, reduce waste, control cost and optimize warehouse distribution network.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of Food Safety and Quality systems.
  • Maintains appropriate communications among various functional areas to ensure orders are filled, and that product meets the needs of sales in terms of quality, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Plan and implement changes to machinery, equipment, production systems and methods of work.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints and resolve problems.
  • Responsibility for food safety and quality. Must report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Must follow required Safe Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as instructed by Management.
  • Other related duties as per job requirements.

  • Understands the operation and use of high-speed production equipment; working knowledge of food production standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s); HACCP, Environmental and Health & Safety regulations
  • Deep and practical business acumen, along with a working knowledge of general business functions including Production, Quality Assurance and Human Resources

Maintenance Manager – Florida, USA

Main Duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the maintenance operations for Chips, Fabricated Chips and Pop Corn departments as well as other utilities as required.
  • Direct the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment as well as electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure that production and operational goals for quality, cost, safety, and service can be achieved by keeping equipment in working order
  • Develop, implement and oversee schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Plan and manage the department’s budget.
  • Ensure that the facility and equipment comply with regulatory and safety codes.
  • Manage inventory of replacement parts.
  • Stay on call for emergency repairs of production equipment.
  • Provide input into projects related to facility modification, new equipment acquisition, and/or process improvement.
  • Manage the department’s documentation system.
  • Train or arrange for training of mechanics and other workers in coordination with the respective departmental manager, the plant manager and the human resources manager.
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and terminations.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge of GMP regulations is an asset.

Financial Controller – Florida, USA

Position Summary

The Controller will be accountable for the financial management of the company including the production of regular financial reports, maintenance of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with Accounting Standards. The controller will diligently assess the financial health of the organization and present proactive recommendations to the executive team for decision making.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Direct the operations of the accounting department.
  • Manage and develop staff through daily interaction, coaching, performance reviews and training.
  • Develop and maintain a system of controls, accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze management reports, including calculating variances to budget / forecast, monitor cash flows within bank terms, calculate ongoing compliance with bank covenants. Identify and report to management current or pro forma issues and recommend action.
  • Ability to set and communicate objectives and expectations with timelines.
  • Issue financial statements monthly, including a detailed MD&A.
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
  • Production of the annual budget and forecasts with detailed follow up quarterly.
  • Prepare working papers and other relevant information at year end for external auditors.
  • Communicate key results and risks with detailed commentary to prepare and assist senior management in decision making.
  • Ability to be a ‘hands-on’ leader who will be visible at the locations they are responsible for and interact face to face with internal partners to complete objectives and goals.
  • Assist the Human Resources Business Partner with the management of the full Administration team.

Education/Qualifications

  • Accounting Designation
  • 10+ years in senior management with a minimum 7 years work experience
  • Previous experience leading a staff of at least 5 individuals.
  • Strong computer literacy, including manufacturing systems (MRP/ERP).
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
